Facebook For Business - Managing Multiple Business Campaigns The New Way
Just when you've started getting comfortable with using Facebook's Business Accounts for managing multiple business campaigns, boom, there's another change.
This summer Facebook rolled out the new Facebook Business Manager that lets teams at businesses and agencies manage multiple ad campaigns and pages in one interface. All of your pages and ad accounts, and people you need to work on them, are now in one place.
Setting up a Facebook Business Manager Account
First, set up an account at business.facebook.com. The person who should set up the Business Manager on Facebook is the person who usually manages Facebook ad accounts and Page permissions for your company. You need to be a manager of the primary Page that represents your business on Facebook to set up Business Manager. Creating the account will automatically make you the admin, (you can change this later), which lets you control all aspects of the business, including modifying or deleting the account, and creating pages and ad accounts.
Business Manager’s basic setup is easy enough: Just log into Facebook with your personal account and go to Business.Facebook.com. Facebook walks you through the rest.
This account will be the agency's account, for example Broadstreet Consulting manages over 20 Facebook pages, so we created a business manager account for Broadstreet Consutling, and added our clients' pages later.
Connecting Client Business Accounts or Shared Logins
If you're like us and you already have a list of ad accounts (also known as business accounts or gray accounts) and the ad managers who are sharing access to them, your next step is to add them on to your Business Manager Account.
Once you have access to your new Facebook Business Manager, you can easily add gray accounts to your new interface with just three steps:
- Click on Settings within your Business Manager.
- Choose Shared Logins from the left sidebar.
- Type in the login information and click Add Shared Login.
This is how you will now create and manage each of your clients' facebook advertisements.
Add People, Pages and More
Once you are in your settings, you'll see a menu on the left side bar with People, Pages, Ad Accounts, Ad Accounts, etc. It's pretty simple to figure out.
To add people, visit the people tab and add anyone by their email address. You can give people permissions to only certain ad accounts, pages, and user roles such as admin, editor, advertisor, etc.
To add pages, visit the pages tab and click add a new page. You'll see options, if you are requesting access to an existing page you'll have to go into the pre-existing pages user roles outside of Facebook Manager, and accept the request for your Manager Account to take admin control.
Where to Go For Help
All in all the Facebook Manager Account will become a much better way to manage multiple ad accounts with multiple payment methods because of it's fairly simple, single interface. They will have some things to improve, no doubt, and it can be a struggle at first when you're trying to figure out what to do. For more help visit the Facebook Business Manager Help Page, a lot of your questions are probably already answered.
