I recently setup a products feed from Drupal 7 to Google Merchant Center, and it took quite a bit of work. I am expecting it to be worth the effort. Maybe it will not be right now, but in the future. I decided to go with xml because it was the simplest to me, and I am not a spreadsheet guy.
I had an old friend ask me (via LinkedIn), What do I think of Bitcoin? While I do have opinions about this, no one has ever asked me before! In particular, this person was wondering if they should invest in Bitcoin.
In case you don't know, Bitcoin are a form of virtual digital currency, and you can buy and sell them like any other currency. Bitcoin has been in the news for various reasons, but the most public was when the government shut down a shady website called "Silk Road" and seized $28 Million in Bitcoin. So here was my answer to the question....
I would consider it a very risky investment at this point. I believe in the concept of having alternative currencies and I believe we should be able to transact business online anonymously (ie, without credit cards), but up until now BitCoins have been used mostly for kind of shady purposes so they have a bad rap right now.
Like most people, I started doing business with GoDaddy a long time ago, when I first started registering Domain names. Actually, my first domain—sliker.com in 1997—was done through Network Solutions, who I think had a monopoly back then. But like most people, when GoDaddy came out with $9.99 domains it was irresistible. One of the things that ProStores uses as a selling point is their integration with eBay. I was telling someone recently that I wasn't happy with the integration, and they pressed me for details and I couldn't remember. So I did a little research and refreshed my memory... On the issue of eBay Stores integration, here are some facts to consider: - You can import products from eBay, but the data will need to be "enhanced" once it's in ProStores. There are fields in ProStores that don't exist in eBay (such as Short Description).
